Chapter 2 Armour... No FoW?
Not a serious subject... just thinking aloud really.. Just wondering whether FoW will become old fashioned and outdated with the arrival of CH2.
Anet has already said that there will be new armours for Chapter 2 and that this chapter (along with all the other chapters), will be standalone so it stands to reason that each chapter will have it's own high end armours.
However, that is largely supposition on my part. Obviously, CH2 account holders that do not have CH1 will not have access to ToA so it would appear that they can't enter FoW or UW UNLESS a new gateway is included in CH2 (like the one in the Shiverpeaks). This is possible because I seem to remember reading that the Canthans are somewhat more religious than the CH1 crowd and they have the same gods (can't find where I read that now though). As CH2 account holders will also have the core professions, it would also make sense that they could visit the FoW to access these armours.
I don't follow all of Gailes threads so I don't know whether this has been covered or not. Will the Assassin and Ritualist have their own FoW armour or will it have it's own version?

anytime that a new high end item comes into a game it will take center stage for a short while and depending on the stats/demand for the item, then it will either remain on top, or will be just like the other items in the game.
FoW armor is the armor to strive for at the current time because it was intended to be the rarest/hardest/most expensive armor in the game and to be kind of an end game/wishlist type armor.

Anythin is pure speculation at this point; as for the Cantha thing,, there is an NPC on the ship in LA who says that the Canthans worship the same gods

Well imo if you have the "orginal" characters from chapter 1 enter chapter 2 they will have double the armor available to them (chapter 1 + chapter 2). I believe that there will be armor in chapter 1 for the new chapter 2 profs inoder to balance it out. It would also entice chapter 2 only players into buying chapter 1.

Would be nice to have another big expensive set of armour about, but if anet keeps fissure as the big armour then the people that buy chap2 without having chap1 will eventually start to want fissure armour, forcing them to buy chap1.

Exactly good point. There is a HUGE difference between 15k armor and fow armor in price and a "in-between" armor in chapter 2 would allow players who do not want to farm for ages or trade forever to get a new fairly high end armor.
People who buy chapter 2 would need a reason to buy chapter 1 and if there is no different armor available then they may be detered. Through having fow armor for assassins and ritualists it would give them a new goal to work to. Well this is what i am hpoing would happen anyway.

I "suspect" chapter 2 will have it's own version if 2 million plat FoW armor, Gaile has said that rubbies and emeralds will have a use.
Didin't the Frog or Gaile say that FoW will be advantages in chapter 2?

The new armor i would imagine will be a in between 15k and fow, probably costing around400-600k if it is midrange which i hope otherwise what was the point in me getting fow?

Alex that anet representative person said on here something along the lines of, "people with fow armor will have the option to keep the original appearance". Now that sounds very much like they will be giving each type of fow armor new skins and the ability to have the old version aswell.

Anet said that rubies and saphires will be given a use which reflects the price people paid for them. Now most people paid between 3.5-5k each for them. So for 2 million plat armor you would require around 500 of them. IMO they will have a new high level pve area similar to uw or fow where new materials drop which are required for the new armor. Rubies and sapphires may be just used for jewellery like they are in todays world.

I hope the gems are for weapons, getting FoW armor in chapter one was fun , but I don't want to repeat the same thing in chapter 2, A-net needs to get a new gimmick, not rehash the same one over and over in every chapter. Perhaps add too the selection of FoW armor, but get something completely different in chapter two for an endgame goal.

I didn't even fall for the gimmick at all! Why grind for something that is exactly the same as an equivalent that costs 1/100th of it.
"It looks different"
Well MacOS looks different, I don't see people switching in doves. Sometimes lame rationale like this just doesn't fly after a while.

Fissure armor is just 15k armor with a couple more materials tacked on. The 'price' of the stuff is driven entirely by the secondary market. The prices on the WaW materials have been dropping as of late and will almost certainly drop further once the expansion is out and people start to sell their stockpiles to purchase the newest equipment.
But the point is that the only difference between a 15k piece of armor and a FoW piece is some ectos and shards, not a whole lot of platinum. The prices of those ectos and shards, however, demonstrates pretty clearly how much people are willing to pay for vanity in this game.
Peace,
-CxE
